Summary

Students in this programme will gain the skills and knowledge to become a well-rounded practitioner of sport and exercise science. The programme includes physical education, coaching, exercise physiology, sport nutrition, sport psychology, biomechanics, sport rehabilitation, and personal training.

Students will also have the opportunity to undertake research projects with clients and work alongside industry professionals. Students will have access to the same state-of-the-art sport testing and consulting facilities used by national and international athletes.

What you'll learn

All third year students will total 70 hours practical experience in their specific areas of interest. These hours may be accrued by placements at local gymnasiums, working with clients for injury rehabilitation, nutrition, physical conditioning and performance assessment and improvement. Students will also have the opportunity to undertake research projects with clients and work alongside respected industry professionals.

Career/further opportunities

Graduates may be employed in a wide range of areas within the sport science, health and fitness, and education sectors including local and regional sports organisations, health and fitness centres, community health, and personal and team fitness training.

Academic qualification equivalents

  • Achieved an overall average of 65% in the Higher Secondary School Examination or Allā€India Senior School Certificate with a minimum of 60% in English;

English language requirements (one of the below):

  • IELTS           :        Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5           
  • TOEFL         :        Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18)    
  • PTE              :        score of 50 with no band score lower than 42
